Tulum.

Tulum is located about 1.5 hours south of Cancun and is known for its lush palm tree lined beaches, ancient mayan ruins and culture, the Sian Ka’an nature reserve and its famous hotel zone filled with boutique hotels showing off their  inspired-by-nature architectural designs. What was once a sleepy beach town is growing into a world renown vacation destination due to its award winning “best beach” in 2021 (according to the World Travel Awards)

Ancient mayan culture along with the magic of the jungle was the origin of Tulum’s spiritual centred tourism years ago, now it’s grown into a place where people flock from all over the world to experience the wilderness of the jungle, pristine beaches and a boho-chic, eco-friendly atmosphere.

Tulum is developing fast to catch up with the real estate demand from expats, digital nomads, retirees, and real estate investors who all want a slice of this paradise. Due to its growth in popularity, a lot of infrastructure is being implemented in this part of the Mayan Riviera. An international airport will be built in Tulum and will be up and running by May 2024 as well as the Tren Maya (2024), which will be connecting 5 different states in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Unlike Cancun and Playa Del Carmen whos beaches are lined with large all inclusive resorts, Tulum is famous for its 14km long hotel zone packed with small boutique hotels, shops, beach clubs and restaurants all immersed in the jungle. It’s gotten more of a reputation these past few years due to its celebrity vacation destination status and iconic Tuluminati style.

The lack of big resorts make it an attractive location for airbnb investment opportunities which is the new wave of tourism, personalised, private and special experiences without being surrounded by other tourists.  Tulum is the younger sibling to Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, however very different in a multitude of ways. Tulum is developing but holding onto its lush & green reputation.

Many of the projects being built in the area are staying true to the Tulum aesthetic - lush, boutique, exclusive and luxurious. Offering experiences to match with creative and unique amenities like private cenotes, lagoons, spas, rock climbing walls, wine caves, underground swimming passages etc.
